As we get closer towards the 2019 provincial election in Alberta, many people will be involved in helping to develop platforms for political parties.
Whether you’re one of the “higher ups” in a party that is helping to determine the final platform, or a grassroots member of a party who will be voting on policy ideas at a policy convention, we’ve got a couple resources that you might find of interest.
This past July we surveyed our supporters across the province to determine their top priorities at the provincial level here in Alberta. Based on their feedback, we subsequently released a “Taxpayers’ Agenda for Alberta” – essentially a top-ten list of policies to work on.
Since that time, we’ve developed a Taxpayers’ Agenda for Alberta – Briefing Book. The short booklet provides some background information on each of the ten policy recommendations.
The booklet includes information on lots of different topics – from recall legislation and making changes to MLA expense accounts to how our province can balance the budget a lot sooner than expected.

Also – for those particularly interested in fiscal matters, you might be interested in our 2018 pre-budget report. The report includes a whole bunch of budget recommendations and includes information on how the government can trim spending and balance the budget. To see the report – click here
